How do I apply Zovirax?
- Wash your hands prior to and after treating the cold sore to reduce the risk of making it worse or giving the infection to someone else.
- Apply the cream liberally to cover the whole of the affected area.
- Apply the cold sore cream to the affected area 5 times a day, about every 4 hours. If you forget a treatment apply some as soon as you remember.
- Continue to apply the treatment for 5 days. If your cold sore has not healed after this time, you can continue the treatment for up to a further 5 days.
- If the cold sore has not healed after 10 days, or if it gets worse at any time, consult your GP.
- Do not exceed the stated dose.
