Virasorb
Containing the active ingredient aciclovir (5%), Virasorb is a great value form money antiviral cold sore cream. The earlier it is applied the greater the healing effect, if you can apply Virasorb before the cold sore appears it can be avoided all together.
Virasorb cold sore cream comes in a 2g tube which contains 50mg (5%) aciclovir. This is the same as the more well know antiviral Zovirax but as you can see below Virasorb costs quite a bit less.

How do I use Virasorb?
- Wash your hands prior to and after treating the cold sore to reduce the risk of making it worse or giving the infection to someone else.
- Spread a thin layer of cream over the sore and surrounding area as soon the tingling starts or as early as possible
- Apply the cream to the affected area 5 times per day.
- Continue to apply the treatment for up to 5 days.
- Do not exceed the stated dose.
